Maybe that was being unfair to Nancy Drew and Harry Potter, but they were technically amateurs while she was fully recognized (and slightly feared) by the magical community. That had to carry some cache with it and she wanted people to understand she wasn't a teenage detective. She was a detective who happened to be a teenager.
